PrintReader - Fingerprint / Password Maintenance Overview
The Fingerprint / Password Maintenance page under Accountant Menu allows you to reset a clock's password, or to deactivate the fingerprint reader on a Vx510 or Vx570. This tool is only available to someone with an Accountant level login.

1. The first step will be to get the serial number and four digit "code" number from the clock. Both of these numbers are found on the clock's "System Info" screen:

Vx-series clocks - press the left purple "soft key" (below the screen) or press the [*] key. (This works on: Vx510(g), Vx570, Vx610.)

Z-series (except Z18) - press the [*] key (This works on: Z11, Z12, Z23/33 and Z24/34).

Z18 - press the [MENU] key twice.

GT400 - Press the CAPS key.

2. Once you have those two numbers, go to Accountant Menu > Fingerprint / Password Maintenance and fill in the Serial Number and Code fields

3. Choose whether you want to reset the password or disable the PrintReader of a Vx-series clock:

Reset FlexClock manager password - This will reset the manager fingerprint password to "1234". This will be useful when a client has lost or forgotten the password to get into the Fingerprint Enrollment Menu.

Deactivate FlexClock fingerprint reader - This will allow the client to temporarily stop using a fingerprint reader on a Verifone FlexClock, such as when the reader is defective and the client is awaiting replacement. (Otherwise, without the reader attached, the clock cannot be punched at all - even by employees who are not enrolled.)

4. When you click "Get Reset Password", a code will be generated. You will need to enter this code into the clock's System Info screen. Once you enter the generated code in the clock it will prompt you that it was successful. If it doesn't let you know that it was successful, you should try again until it does.

==Note== The passwords are random and can only be used once, this is meant to safeguard against an employee getting a hold of a reset code and using that to circumvent restrictions placed by their management.
