FlexClock - Verifone Vx570 Doing JUST the Software Update Via USB
**NOTE: THIS IS FOR JUST UPDATING THE SOFTWARE TO THE LATEST AND NOT THE FIRMWARE ALSO. IF NEED TO UPDATE BOTH USE THIS ARTICLE FlexClock - Firmware and Software USB Upgrade.

These directions apply ONLY to FlexClock model Vx570, as it is the only supported VeriFone model with a USB port.

You will also need to add the latest software file 'as is' on a USB memory stick. Make sure this 'verifone.zip' file is the only thing on the USB stick. Below is the latest firmware '757.2.105' (199 KB) as of April 2010. **BUT ALWAYS CONTACT SUPPORT TO ENSURE THE VERSION YOU DOWNLOAD IS THE CURRENT ONE.**

verifone.zip

The clock cannot be used for punches during this process. Any punches in memory may be lost. To preserve the punches, please transmit them. If you are having problems transmitting, use the alternate connection method available (i.e. Dialup if unable to transmit via Ethernet).

1. Press F2+F4

If they have issues with say a "TAMPERED" message and the keypad does not respond to presses have them unplug the clock then plug it back in and as it is powering/booting up continually/repeatedly press the F2+F4. What we are trying to do is have the system boot directly to the settings menu and not to the clocks software.

2. Enter the password:

1 <ALPHA> <ALPHA> 66831 then the green ENTER key

3. Choose DOWNLOAD. That option may not be on the first page, so scroll down using the purple keys if needed.

4. Choose these settings in this order:

a. Group 1 <ENTER>

b. Password:

1 <ALPHA> <ALPHA> 66831 then the green ENTER key

c. SINGLE - APP (F3)

d. PARTIAL (F4).

e. Scroll down using the purple key to 'USB FLASH MEMORY (F3)'and select the button next to it.

f. Press the F4 key where it says 'CONTINUE' then F3 or 'YES'. It will then go through the process of downloading the files from the USB to the clock.

g. Once the download is done it will then ask you to remove the USB Memory Stick. Once you have done so press the green ENTER key and then either press F4 to 'RESTART' or unplug then plug back in the power cable.

It will then go through the process of updating the software then go back to the date and time screen to allow people to again use the clock to make in/out punches.
