| FlexClock - Vx Series - Firmware and Software Analog Phone Line Upgrade | ||||||

| This article will guide you through the process of using the analog modem to flash a Vx series time clock. This can be used when flashing a new clock or when updating or reprogramming clock. It is rare that the firmware will need to be upgrade, but if you are directed to do so, please follow the firmware instructions first and then the software instructions. Clear the Terminal Memory (Optional) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ THIS WILL CLEAR ANY PUNCHES THAT ARE STORED IN THE CLOCK. If the terminal is already programmed with stock Verifone software, it is advised that you clear the clocks flash memory before loading the time clock software. 1. Press [F2] & [F4] keys (at the same time) 2. Type the password "1", [ALPHA], [ALPHA], "66831", then press [Enter] 3. Using the purple keys on the bottom of the screen, scroll until you see "MEMORY FUNCTIONS F2" option, press [F2] 4. Press [F4] next to "CLEAR MEM" and then press [Enter] 5. Type the password "1", [ALPHA], [ALPHA], "66831" > then press [Enter] 6. Press [F4] next to "CLEAR ALL GROUPS" and then [F4] to "CONFIRM" 7. When it has completed, press [Cancel] and then scroll up until you see "RESTART", then press [F4] Download and Install the Time Clock Software ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Any punches, settings, or fingerprint templates should be preserved, but it is possible that doing this will erase punches and other setting in the clock. It is recommended that you transmit any punches and write down special network settings before proceeding. Fingerprint templates will be downloaded from the server, if needed. 1. Press [F2] + [F4] (at the same time) 2. Type the password "1", [ALPHA], [ALPHA], "66831", then press [Enter] 3. Press [F3] for “DOWNLOAD” 4. Press [Enter] when the clock displays “Group 1” 5. Type the password "1", [ALPHA], [ALPHA], "66831", then press [Enter] 6. Press [F3] for SINGLE APP 7. Press [F4] for “PARTIAL” 8. Press [F2] for “MODEM” 9. The “ZP HOST PHONE NUMBER” is: "18003051375". (If the line you are using needs a dial prefix, you will enter the prefix (usually a “9”). Sometimes a pause is necessary after the prefix, if so, use a COMMA for the pause ([STAR] [ALPHA] 10. The “ZT TERMINAL ID” is “1” 11. The “ZA APPLICATION ID” is "747" 12. If you are asked for the "BLOCK SIZE FOR DOWNLOAD", choose 1000 or the maximum setting allowed. 13. Press [F4] to begin the download. 14. When the download has completed, press [ENTER] The terminal will restart while the update is installed (takes about a minute). Download and Install the current Verifone Firmware ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The following steps will not be needed in every situation. ONLY complete a firmware upgrade if directed by support or a message on the clock itself. THIS WILL CLEAR ALL PUNCHES AND SETTINGS THAT ARE STORED IN THE CLOCK. Please transmit any punches before going through these steps. 1. Press [F2] + [F4] (at the same time) 2. Type the password "1", [ALPHA], [ALPHA], "66831", then press [Enter] 3. Press [F3] for “DOWNLOAD” 4. Press [Enter] when the clock displays “Group 1” 5. Type the password "1", [ALPHA], [ALPHA], "66831", then press [Enter] 6. Press [F3] for SINGLE APP 7. Press [F3] for “FULL” 8. Press [F2] for “MODEM” 9. The “ZP HOST PHONE NUMBER” is: "18003051375". (If the line you are using needs a dial prefix, you will enter the prefix (usually a “9”). Sometimes a pause is necessary after the prefix, if so, use a COMMA for the pause ([STAR] [ALPHA]). 10. The “ZT TERMINAL ID” is “1” 11. The “ZA APPLICATION ID” will depend on the terminal model number, see below a. Vx510 & Vx570 = "570" b. Vx510G & Vx610 = "610" 12. If you are asked for the "BLOCK SIZE FOR DOWNLOAD", choose 1000 or the maximum setting allowed. 13. Press [F4] to begin the download. 14. When the download has completed, press [ENTER] or unplug the terminal and plug it back in. When this process is completed, the terminal is ready for the time clock software to be installed. NOTE: Some of the early terminals we've sold might have a password of “1”, “8086”, “8086 alpha” instead of 1 <alpha> <alpha> 66831.
