When I program my clock it gives me a 'WAITING FOR ANSWER' message. How do I fix this?
Answer
This is the initial message when the TimeClock tries to dial out to download programming and configuration settings for the clock.

Sometimes this message can stay on the clock for a few moments before it starts the download which makes some think it is an error.

Try leaving the message there for a bit longer. It shouldn't stay up for more then 2 minutes before it will start the download process.

If it does stay there longer than 5 minutes try using the other modem port on the back of the clock and press '9' to transmit again.

If it still gives the same error re-verify the clock is connected to an analog line. Or test if maybe one of the modems or both are bad by doing test transmits on both modem ports on the clock.

If this does not work try re-programming the TimeClock again. (NOTE: THIS WILL ALSO DELETE ANY PUNCHES CURRENTLY ON THE CLOCK. THE ONLY WAY TO REMOVE PUNCHES FROM A CLOCK WITH OUT TRANSMITTING IT TO OUR SERVERS WOULD BE TO USE A DATA EXTRACTION KIT TO DOWNLOAD THE PUNCHES TO A COMPUTER AND MANUALLY UPLOAD THEM THROUGH THE SITE. MORE ON THIS CAN BE FOUND HERE #129#.)

If the above does not resolve this issue contact Support for further troubleshooting or an RMA request.
