When I try to transmit my punches it connects and then gives me an error 'Transmit Ended'?
Answer
"Transmit Ended" is a generic error message that indicates the connection got cut off. If you receive it frequently, it may mean there are issues with the phone line.

The best way to pin point the problem will be to either take the clock to a location with a phone line that works with this type of clock, or try a different clock with the phone line. Pay attention to whether or not the phone line needs a dial prefix (ex: dial a "9" to dial out) when trying a clock on a different phone line (TimeClock - Change or Remove the dialing prefix).

Some phone lines can have interference or static that will interrupt the connection, but may not be noticeable to someone listening on the phone. It may also help if the clock is the only device using that phone line. If there is a fax machine, unplugging it often makes a difference when there are connection problems.

If the client uses a VOIP phone system, please read: Support - Will your service work with VoIP (Voice over IP)?.

Please report persistent problems to support, so we can help with troubleshooting.

If the client's phone lines are not compatible with the tranz 380, you may want to consider one of our FlexClocks. They use the Internet to transmit data, instead of a dial up modem.

Finally, a very old version of our software (1.05) has an incompatibility with the Tranz 380 that causes this message to occur sometimes. With this specific bug, if just one more punch is added after this error appears, then the transmit goes through properly.

You can check the software version on the Administration > Verify Transmit page online to see if you are affected.

If you are, you can reprogram the clock to the newest software. This doesn't affect very many people - it only affects the model 380 time clock (not the 330 or any other model), and only clocks that have been using our service since before 2005 with software version 1.05. If this is your issue please note reprogramming the clock will also delete any punches currently on the clock. If there are a lot of punches the only means to get them off would be to use a data extraction kit. More on the Data Extraction kit can be found here TimeClock - Data Extraction Kit.
