PrintReader (TimeClock) - Upgrading an Existing Non-Biometric Installation for Finger Print Reader for the 330/380
The steps to connect a PrintReader to a 330/380 TimeClock are:

connect the PrintReader cables
power up the clock (PrintReader should beep and flash)
press [Func/Enter]
press [1]
type "346437" (spells "finger") then [Func/Enter]

The clock will display messages indicating that it has found and associated its self to the reader. When it asks if you would like to receive fingerprint templates from the database, press [1] for yes (or [2] for no in rare circumstances).

If the steps above fail, it may be necessary to update the TimeClock first. Follow the steps outlined in the following article to complete this and then try the above steps again:

TimeClock - Programming or Re-Programming a TimeClock

Before making any changes to your setup, transmit any activity (punches) so you don't risk losing it by pressing the 9 key to initiate a manual transmit.

Software and firmware versions:

In order to use the finger print reader, you need to have version 2.01 or later of the clock software loaded. If you used your clock before August 2007, you probably need an update.

The clock software version is different from the firmware whose version number appears when you turn on the clock. The firmware is made by Verifone, although your payroll provider can special-order update chips from the payroll/timekeeping software providers.

The latest firmware for the TRANZ 330 is version 3.70, and the latest firmware for the TRANZ 380 is 1.41. The firmware is on a removable chip in a slot that's visible if you open the unit. Using the latest firmware is recommended. Some features will be disabled if you use a TRANZ 330 firmware version earlier than 3.60.

You can verify both the software and firmware versions online by visiting the Verify Transmit screen on the timekeeping site's administration menu.

If you are upgrading an existing installation, contact your payroll provider for instructions on upgrading the clock software.
