I have a new client and need to add clocks, how do I do that? How do I program clocks after adding them to the Client site?
Answer
The following 6 steps will walk you through adding a timeclock to the site.

1. Select the client
2. Click on the Accountant Menu link (on the left hand side)
3. Once you are at the Accountant Menu, scroll down to the Add Clocks link and click there
4. You will get a screen that you can add the Serial Number of the clock(s) to, put the S/N in one to each blank you see. If you have more S/N than blanks, simple fill out the form with as many as possible, then come back to the Add Clocks form and add any remaining S/Ns you may have.
5. Click the Submit button
6. You will see a message that the clocks have been added

* We have two different types of 380 devices now. There is the Tranz 380 and the Tranz 380X2, which has dual memories. The programming instructions are slightly different for the 2 models. Specifically at step 5, if it says "Download?" then you have a 380, but if it says "Download Type? 1=330 2=380" then you have the 380X2 device. While the 380X2 will usually have this listed on the front of the device, it is not always listed. Here are the programming instructions for each device.

- Programming the Tranz 330/380.

If you are just reprogramming a clock you will take the exact same steps:

1. Clear the memory of the terminal. To do this, hold down the * and CLEAR keys at the same time. The terminal will prompt: "ENTER PASSWORD"

2. Enter the following password: 8 ALPHA 0 ALPHA 8 ALPHA 5 3 6 1 0 4 1 ALPHA ENTER. (Sometimes we are asked what we mean by ALPHA - there is a key labeled ALPHA above the ENTER key. When you press it, you won't see any new *'s appear on the screen, but you'll hear a beep, and that's good enough).

3. The terminal should say "SUCCESSFUL". If not, try again. (If it doesn't, it means there was a typo entering the password).

4. Press enter. The terminal should say: "FUNCTION?"

5. Press [0]. The clock will then say one of two things "DOWNLOAD?" or "DOWNLOAD TYPE?". You will want to follow the below depending on what you receive:

a. "DOWNLOAD?" - Press [ENTER]

b. "DOWNLOAD TYPE?" - Press 2 then [ENTER]. It will then go to a "DOWNLOAD?" message. Press [ENTER]

6. The terminal should ask: "DOWNLOAD PHONE NUM?"

7. Dial: 18882289550. Then press enter. NOTE: If you need to dial a 9 to get out, then Dial: 9-18882289550. The 'dash' will program a 2-second pause during dialing, which ensures the clock waits for a second dial tone before continuing to dial. To get the 'dash', simply hit the zero (0) key and then the 'Alpha' key, and the 0 will turn into a 'dash' on the clock's screen.

8. The terminal will ask: "SERIAL NUM?"

9. Enter the 9-digit serial number off the bottom of the unit. No dashes necessary, just the digits. Then press enter

10. The terminal will ask: "APPLICATION ID?"

11. Enter the number 7472, then press enter.

12. The terminal will ask: "DOWNLOAD SPEED?"

13. Press 2, then enter.

14. The terminal will dial into our servers and download the program. When it's done, you should see "DOWNLOAD DONE" on the screen. Don't touch the clock yet - within seconds, you will see "WAIT" while the program installs, and then "OK".

15. Finally, press the 9 key to perform an initial transmit. After the transmit, the clock's time is set and it's ready to be used.

Programming the Tranz 380X2.

1. Clear the memory of the terminal. To do this, hold down the [*] and [CLEAR] keys at the same time. The terminal will prompt: "ENTER PASSWORD"

2. Enter the following password: [8 ALPHA 0 ALPHA 8 ALPHA 5 3 6 1 0 4 1 ALPHA ENTER].

4. Press [enter]. The terminal should say: "FUNCTION?"

5. Press [0]. Clock will say (("Download Type? "1=330 2=380"))

6. Press [2]. Clock says "DOWNLOAD?"

7. Press [enter]. The terminal should ask: "DOWNLOAD PHONE NUM?"

8. Dial: [18882289550]. Then press enter. NOTE: If you need to dial a 9 to get out, then Dial: [9-18882289550]. The 'dash' will program a 2-second pause during dialing, which ensures the clock waits for a second dial tone before continuing to dial. To get the 'dash', simply hit the zero (0) key and then the 'Alpha' key, and the 0 will turn into a 'dash' on the clock's screen.

9. The terminal will ask: "SERIAL NUM?"

10. Enter the [9-digit serial number] off the bottom of the unit. No dashes necessary, just the digits. Then press enter

11. The terminal will ask: "APPLICATION ID?"

12. Enter the number [7472], then press enter.

13. The terminal will ask: "DOWNLOAD SPEED?"

14. Press [2], then [enter].

15. The terminal will dial into our servers and download the program. When it's done, you should see "DOWNLOAD DONE" on the screen. Don't touch the clock yet - within seconds, you will see "WAIT" while the program installs, and then "OK".

16. Finally, press the 9 key to perform an initial transmit. After the transmit, the clock's time is set and it's ready to be used.

After programming do the following: we are going to have the second memory bank say "HIT ENTER TWICE" rather than the date and time so that we can always push it back to the first memory bank.

1. Hit FUNC and then 7.
2. The password is: 1 ALPHA ALPHA 66831 then ENTER.
3. Should say Enter what? You will type 30 then ENTER.
4. Screen should read "0030"
5. Then hit backspace and enter the password from above again.
6. It will then show "0030="
7. This is where you will start to key in the letters. You will want to hit the number that contains the appropriate letter and then ALPHA to cycle through the letters until you get to the right one. To do a space you would hit the '0' key and then ALPHA twice.

So to do the 1st word you would do:
4 ALPHA ALPHA 4 ALPHA ALPHA ALPHA 8 ALPHA 0 ALPHA ALPHA

And the 2nd Word:
3 ALPHA ALPHA 6 ALPHA ALPHA 8 ALPHA 3 ALPHA ALPHA 7 ALPHA ALPHA 0 ALPHA ALPHA

And finally the 3rd Word:
8 ALPHA 9 ALPHA 4 ALPHA ALPHA ALPHA 2 ALPHA ALPHA ALPHA 3 ALPHA ALPHA

Once you have entered all 3 words, press [Enter]. This will bring you back to the screen on step 1 and you will just hit [Backspace] to get out of the menu and back to the date and time screen and then press [Clear]. You can test it by pressing [Enter] twice.

When it goes to the date and time, press Enter Twice and see if it comes on the screen after showing the model and software version on the screen.
