Automatic Lunch (Auto Lunch) Feature
The Auto Lunch feature will automatically deduct a lunch break after a set number of hours. This is set up per employee in Employee Setup. The two values needed for this feature are: minutes to deduct, and number of hours (explained further below).

MINUTES - how many minutes should be deducted for lunch

AFTER (X) HOURS - "x" is the number of hours the employee needs to be punched IN before the system will apply the lunch deduction.

The HOURS are commonly set to between 60% to 80% of the employee's normal shift. That way the employee has enough time to punch out for lunch, but not so long as to automatically deduct a lunch from an employee that happens to punch out for an early lunch.

An example of an employee with an 8 hour shift would be 30 minutes after 6 hours. If that employee clocked in at 7:00am and out at 3:30pm and they do not punch out for lunch the system will automatically deduct 30 minutes. If they want, they could punch out for a lunch break as early as 9:30am and as late as 1:00pm, and the system would not auto deduct any time. This is because none of the individual punch times would be 6 hours.

The Auto Lunch feature works on a per punch basis, meaning that it would be possible for the employee to receive more than one deduction in one day. The system will take an auto deduction for each set of punches that meet the Auto Lunch criteria. (Though, it can only take one deduction per punch.)

Please note that Auto Lunch does not work with "Out Punch Completion" turned on. It also will not work with export formats that use the actual IN and OUT punches, instead of the SwipeClock calculated hours.

Please note that if the account type is TimeWorks (Classic), you will need to manually add the lunch in if you perform any edits to that punch set as it will only work on actual punches.
