| TimeClock - Punches and Power Outages | | Question | | If the power goes out, are my punches completely gone? | Answer | Each clock unit has a back up Lithium battery so that if the power goes out all the punches in the clock will continue to store until the clock can receive power again.
The battery is only there to store punches that have already been made and not strong enough to actually power the clock in the event of a power outage.
So trying to do things like creating or transmitting punches will not work until power is restored.
Once the power is restored it is always a good idea to manually transmit any stored punches by pressing the 9 on the clock which will then update your payroll data.
