TimeSimplicity- Enabling Integrated Scheduling in TimeWorksPlus
IMPORTANT: At this time, TimeSimplicity can only be integrated with TimeWorksPlus through SwipeClock's Professional Services department. If you are interested in having SwipeClock assist in implementing TimeSimplicity for your current or prospective TimeWorksPlus clients, please go to the Product page of the SwipeClock partner page and select "TimeSimplicity Advanced Scheduling".

In order for your client to use TimeSimplicity as an integrated scheduler in TimeWorksPlus and have schedule exceptions appear on the time card, you will need to enable and configure Integrated Scheduling feature in TimeWorksPlus. This article will guide you through the preparation steps that should be taken before integrating scheduling as well as the details for configuring the rule.

IMPORTANT: If your client's account has any custom scripting that is either creating schedule alerts or documenting an attendance policy, it may not work with TimeSimplicity. If either of these situations are the case, please contact technical support for more information.

Before enabling and configuring the Integrated Scheduling rule:

1. If the client has been using the Scheduling feature in TimeWorks Plus, finalize any pay periods for which you want to preserve the schedule. This will also preserve any schedule rounding (RoundToScheduleN) and ScheduleAlerts, if being used.

Go to the Settings Menu and select the Processing Rules menu item. Make sure:

2. The Scheduling Rule is turned off. Previous schedules created with the TimeWorksPlus Scheduling feature will still be visible on the time card and in Scheduling Reports, but you will no longer be able to create schedules in TimeWorks Plus.
3. The ScheduleAlerts Rule is turned off. Exceptions for schedules created in TimeSimplicity will be configured in the IntegratedScheduling rule.
4. The RoundToScheduleN rule is turned off.

Next, to enable the Integrated Scheduling Rule in TimeWorksPlus:

1. From the the Processing Rules page (under the Settings Menu) select the Scheduling category.
2. Click the IntegratedScheduling rule. This will open a page where you can configure the schedule exceptions, which is done by clicking the OFF toggle and setting the value for the thresholds.

--EARLY IN will be raised if the employee's IN punch is before their schedule start time and outside of the minutes threshold set in the minutes field.
--TARDY will be raised if the employee's IN punch is after their scheduled start time and outside of the minutes threshold set in the minutes field but, less than the LATE IN setting if used.
--LATE IN will be raised if the employee's IN punch is after their scheduled start time and outside of the minutes threshold set in the minutes field. The purpose of this exception is to create a more severe late status.
--EARLY OUT will be raised if the employee's OUT punch is prior to the scheduled end time and outside of the minutes threshold set in the minutes field.
--LATE OUT will be raised if the employee's OUT punch is after their scheduled end time and outside of the minutes threshold set in the minutes field but, less than the VERY LATE setting if used.
--VERY LATE will be raised if the employee's OUT punch is after their scheduled END time and outside of the minutes threshold set in the minutes field. The purpose of this exception is to create a more severe late clock out status.
--UNSCHEDULED ABSENCE will be raised if the employee was scheduled on a day prior to today and did not record a punch or had a paid time off entry.
--UNSCHEDULED WORK SHIFT will be raised if the employee was not scheduled and recorded a punch.
--MISSING LUNCH will be raised if the employee was scheduled to have a lunch and did not clock out for lunch.
--SHORT LUNCH will be raised if the employee clocked out for lunch, but it was less than the scheduled time.
--LONG LUNCH will be raised if the employee clocked out for lunch, but it was longer than the scheduled lunch time.

3. Click "Save" after setting the alerts.

If your client is not using these exceptions, the rule still needs to be enabled in order to use TimeSimplicity as the integrated scheduler. Simply leave the exception settings blank and click "Save".

Once this is done, the TimeSimplicity Options rule will need to be enabled (if not already) for the Single Sign On portion of the TimeSimplicity integration to work.
