WebClock - Blocking WebClock Access using WebClock IP Filter
We can also limit the amount of computers or devices that are allowed to use these features by IP by using the Web Clock IP Filter. This can be found by going to:

TimeWorks - Account Menu > Miscellaneous Settings > WebClockIPFilter
TimeWork Plus - Settings Menu > Processing Rules > Misc Settings (tab) >

Here you can specify which IP's can use the web clock. Multiple IP's can be entered by making them comma separated. For example:

66.123.0.1,66.123.0.2,66.123.0.3

Per the explanation under that field you can even do wildcards for example Use: * as a wildcard to specify a range of IP addresses. Example settings:

1) 204.246.133.*
2) 204.246.*
3) 204.*

**Note: If employee's use a computer with an IP address not listed in the "WebClockIPFilter" they will still be able to use the "View Timecard" function.

**Note: There is a character limit of 1,800 for saving IP addresses in the WebClockIPFilter.

A video tutorial on setting up the IP Filter can be found at the below link:

http://payrollservers.us/shareddocs/helpvideos/webclockipfilter/webclockipfilter.html

You can use the web site www.whatismyip.com to find out a computer's public IP address. The IP address is also shown in the rejection message if the filter prevents someone from clocking in. Often, computers in the same building sharing the same Internet connection will share the same public IP address.

Computers frequently have a "private" and a "public" IP address. Only the public IP address can be used in the web filter. Private IP addresses are ones that start with 192.168.x.x and 10.x.x.x.
