TimeWorks Plus: Holiday Rule
The “Holiday Rule” allows the system to automatically add holiday hours to selected employee’s time card based on the holidays selected in the “Holidays” processing rule.

Holiday Rule Setup:

Step 1. To access this rule select the “Processing Rules” link which can be found on the “Dashboard,” “Accountant Menu,” or the “Settings Menu” bar.
Step 2. Then select the “Automatic Holiday Hours Calculator” radio button, or simply type in “HolidayRule” in the search box.
Step 3. Click on the “HolidayRule” link found in the Search Results section.



Step 4. You may then choose the “Employee Selection” by specific criteria.
Step 5. Enter the number of holiday hours. Note: The secondary box is for future development and is currently inactive. Please disregard.
Step 6. Click “Save” to activate this rule.



CAUTION: It is strongly suggested that “Employee Groups” are used to implement the “Holiday Rule.” This will allow you to better manage which employees receive holiday hours depending on their status.

For example, if you select “Specific Employees” you will need to remember to manually add new employees, or remove an inactive employee’s name from the list of “Specific Employees.” Note: This page is modified by the service bureau only.


Employee Group Setup:

Step 1. An example of setting up an “Employee Group” with the “Holiday Rule” would be to designate a field within the “Employee Setup” profile page with key words, such as “Full time” (see example below). Adding or removing this label will determine if an employee is paid for holiday hours.



Step 2. To add a group to “Employee Groups,” see the example below. The full time group is set up by using “Select by Criteria.” The system will automatically add hours to this group of employees who have full time entered in the “Home 3” field on their “Employee Setup” page.
