TimeWorks Plus: Basic Accruals
Basic Accruals is a processing rule that allows our Partners to set up accruals on a system without scripting.

Here is detailed description of all of the boxes to fill out:

Policy Name:

You can leave this blank to make it apply to all employees OR enter a name for this so that it applies only to employees are under the same policy. An example would be to separate the Hourly from the Salaried, or Full Time from the Part Time employees.

If you enter something in here, you will need to ensure that all of your employees that are eligible for the particular policy have the same information using the "Policy Validator" field in Employee Setup once the Basic Accruals has been saved.

Bucket Name:

This is usually Vacation, PTO, or Sick. This bucket name is also linked to the category with which they are requesting time off.

Frequency:

This is according to the policy. Many policies are according to the Pay period, but you can also choose Yearly, Monthly, Semimonthly, Biweekly, Weekly, Daily, and Hourly.

Yearly Specifics:

Customize these choices only if you chose Yearly to choose a specific date, or on their start date.

Date to start in our system:

Here you will choose a day to start accruals in our system. This is usually the start of a pay period that you have up to date balances for the previous pay period.

Months:

Here you will enter the months of tenure, highest to lowest according to the client's policy. Currently there are only six levels of tenure accruals available.

Amount in hours:

Here you will enter the amount they earn in a year in the amount of hours. So if they accrue up to 5 days in a year, they would receive 40 hours.

Max:

Here you will enter the max that that tenure threshold can go, this could be equal to the amount, or be higher, depending on the PTO policy in question.

Min:

Here you will enter their minimum balance. If they can go infinitely negative, leave this field blank.

First day employees can use their balance:

This is also called the vesting date. By choosing "Start Date", that means they can start using their balances from first hired.

Expiration Date:

Here you will choose if they have a limited carry over after a specific date, expire, or neither.

Here is a finished form:

This is a policy that full time employees get Vacation on a semimonthly basis, and Sick on a yearly basis. Part time employees do the same, but get half as much.
